APPROVAL OF CONTRACT RENEWAL FOR TEMPORARY
EMPLOYMENT SERVICES, NON -CLERICAL
City Council to consider approval of a contract renewal to Temporaries of Texas for the
purchase of non -clerical temporary employment services on an as needed basis. A copy
of the bid tabulation is attached for review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Limited to budget appropriations at the department level.
BACKGROUND:
Staff requests Council approval of a contract renewal to Temporaries of Texas for the
purchase of non -clerical employment services to be purchased on an as needed basis at
the department level.
This contract provides City Departments with fixed contract pricing for various non-
clerical positions as needed on a temporary basis. The contract covers position
descriptions such as maintenance, grounds and facility workers as well as public works
operations positions including water and wastewater operators.
Staff issued Invitations to bid 'to ten vendors with one vendor responding. Council
originally approved the initial award to Temporaries of Texas on April 15, 2003. The bid
specifications allowed a one-year period with an option to renew for four additional
years. This would be the second renewal period. The original contract pricing is attached
for review.
Temporaries of Texas performed this service satisfactorily during the initial contract
period, is a local Grapevine vendor and has agreed to renew the contract with no
increase in contract pricing.
Staff recommends approval.
