HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 14 - Impact Fee Committee AppointmentMEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF T HE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, ACTING CITY MANAGERi� MEETING DATE: JUNE 21, 2005 SUBJECT: IMPACT FEE COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT RECOMMENDATION: City Council consider appointing Mr. Dennis Luers to the five member Impact Fee Advisory Committee, and take any necessary action. BACKGROUND: The current committee is comprised of Mr. Bob Burrus, Mr. Tim Lancaster, Ms. Neva Frymire, Ms. Kathy Livengood, and Mr. Bob Meyers. The advisory committee performs the"following duties: • Advise and assist the City in adopting land use assumptions • Review the capital improvements plan and file written comments • Monitor and evaluate implementation of the capital improvements plan • File semiannual reports with respect to the progress of the capital improvements plan and report to the City any perceived inequities in implementing the plan or imposing the impact fee • Advise the City of the need to update or revise the land use assumptions, capital improvements plan and impact fee. The State Impact Fee Legislation requires that at least two (40%) of the committee members be representatives of the real estate, development or building industries. The two members serving in this capacity are Mr. Burrus and Mr. Lancaster. Mr. Burrus is no longer eligible to serve on the committee since he no longer resides nor owns businesses in Grapevine. Staff has approached Mr. Luers about serving on the committee to meet the stipulated quota. Mr. Luers, who is employed in the Real Estate business, has agreed to serve. Staff has reviewed the nomination of Mr. Luers with Councilmen Ware and Stewart. Both have expressed their support of the nomination.
