RENEWAL OF ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR TREE
MAINTENANCE, BID NUMBER 120-2002
City Council to consider renewal of an annual contract to TruGreen ArborCare
(previously known as Trees, Inc.) for tree maintenance services. Contract expenditures
will not exceed the annual budgeted amount for this service. A copy of the original bid
tabulation is attached for review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
100-44540-312-3 General Fund/Parks Maintenance/Professional Services .... $110,000
BACKGROUND:
Council first approved a contract to TruGreen ArborCare on March 5, 2002. The contract
establishes fixed pricing for tree maintenance services to be used on an as needed
basis by the Parks Department.
The bid requested unit pricing on different labor configurations for pruning, tree removal,
stump grinding and disposal. The specifications of the contract specified an .initial one-
year period with an option to renew for three additional one-year periods. This approval
request is for the third and final renewal period.
TruGreen ArborCare has performed satisfactory service during previous contract periods
and has agreed to renew their contract with no increase in pricing.
Staff recommends renewal of a contract to TruGreen ArborCare for tree maintenance
services.
