APPROVAL OF CONTRACT RENEWAL FOR POLICE
UNIFORM CLEANING SERVICES
City Council to consider approval of a contract renewal to Metro Cleaners to provide
uniform cleaning services for the Police Department on an as needed basis.
Expenditures will be limited to the annual budgeted amount for this service.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Limited to budget appropriations at the department level.
BACKGROUND:
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a).
The purpose of this bid is to establish annual contract pricing for cleaning police
department uniforms.
Council first approved this contract on May 6, 2004. Staff issued bids to nine local
Grapevine vendors and Metro Cleaners was the only vendor to return a bid. Metro
Cleaners performed this service for the past nine years and consistently met all
requirements of the contract. Attached for review is a copy of the current price list.
Other vendors contacted did not return bids due to workloads. The initial bid document
allowed options to renew the contract for four additional one-year periods. This would be
the second renewal period.
Metro Cleaners has agreed to renew the contact with no increase in pricing.
Staff recommends approval of an award to Metro Cleaners.
