SUBJECT: ADOPT -A -ROAD PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and staff recommend the City Council consider
approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention
Center for SH 26, from Ruth Wall Street to Gaylord Trail to the Gaylord Texan and for
Turner Road, from Boyd Drive to Ruth Wall Street. The application is attached for
review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Adopt -A -Road signage would be placed at both ends of the limits of each program area.
The cost of the signs is approximately $150 and would come from the Grounds
Maintenance Account 100-42205-312-3.
BACKGROUND:
The proposed agreement is for a period of two years and requires the applicant to pick
up litter a minimum of six times per year. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
approved the agreement with the Gaylord Texan at the June 16, 2005 meeting.

APPLICATION FOR ADOPT -A -ROADWAY PROGRAM
The City of Grapevine will work with the adopting group to determine the specific
section of roadway to be adopted. Such factors as width of right-of-way, geometrics,
congestion and reduced sight distance of roadways may be considered by the City in
determining what roadways shall be eligible for adoption.
