STOP SIGN INSTALLATIONS IN NEW SUBDIVISIONS
City Council consider adopting an ordinance amending Section 23-30, Stop
Intersections, of the City Code of Ordinances, approving the installation of Stop signs at
various locations in the City of Grapevine, and take any necessary action.
BACKGROUND:
Recently, final plats have been approved and the plats have been recorded at the
County for the following subdivisions.
• Silver Lake Estates Phase III
• Crestwood Hollow
• Castle Court
All the Stop signs that are proposed are at "T" intersections with the Stop sign facing the
minor street. Some of the Stop signs have already been installed.
Installation of the Stop signs provides motorists a clear indication of right-of-way,
reduces confusion and enhances traffic safety. However, unless the installation is
approved by City Ordinance, it cannot be enforced.
Staff recommends approval.
