SUBJECT: CONSIDER MODIFICATION TO THE FEE SCHEDULES FOR THE
USE OF RECREATION FACILITIES AND LEAGUE PLAY
DATE: DECEMBER 6, 2005
RECOMMENDATION:
The Council Facilities Committee and staff recommend the City Council consider approval of
modifications to the fee schedules for the use of recreation facilities and league play. The
recommendations are below. Attached is a survey of athletic field rentals and league play.
Field Rentals Current Fee Proposed Fee
Baseball/Softball/Soccer with lights $20.00 hr. $25.00 hr.
Baseball/Softball/Soccer without lights $15.00 hr. $20.00 hr.
New rates would go into effect January 1, 2006.
Justification: Fees based upon market. Also, fees were last raised in February 2003.

New facility rental rates would go into effect January 1, 2006.
--- Justification: The new fees will allow us to cover the costs that are associated with cleaning and
picking up after rentals take place. The person reserving the pavilion will get a break on the per
hour cost once the initial cost of cleaning the pavilion has been recovered with the first 3 hour
minimum charge.

New CAC membership fees would go into effect January 1, 2006.
Justification: Fees were last raised for CAC memberships in November of 2002. The family
membership, which includes 3 or more in a household, offers a $20.00 break to the family just as
current family fee versus individual fee does.
Example: The current family membership is $70.00. In order to purchase three individual
memberships a person would pay a total of $90.00. By choosing a family membership the family
saves $20.00 over the individual membership cost.
With the proposed $85 family membership fee, a family of three would save $20 off the individual
rate of $35.
The Facilities Committee has reviewed the proposed fees and recommends approval.
