Consider an ordinance adopting Fiscal Year 1996-1997 (FY97) budget and take any necessary action. 2. Consider an ordinance adopting the ad valorem tax rate at 5.4150 per S 100.00 valuation for Fiscal Year 1996-1997 (FY97) and take any necessary action. TQ �RDER Mayor Tate called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. INVOCATION Mayor Pra Tem Ware delivered the Invocation. iTEM 1 . �RDINANCE, ADtJPT FISCAL YEAR 199fi-1997 fFY97} BUDGET City Manager Petty nated a!! statutary requirements had been met in preparation for presentatian of the Fiscal Year (FY97) 1996-1997 Budget. He requested the City Council cansider an ordinanee adapting the budget for FY97. Ne noted the budget presented for consideration included the increased service levels from the Gity Cauncil workshop on July 15, 1996 and the public hearing on September 3, 199C. There was no discussion by the City Cauncil. 9/10/96 Council Member Johnson, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Ware, offered a motion to adopt the ordinance approving the budget for Fiscal Year 1996-1997. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Tate, Ware, Spencer, Wilbanks, Pittman, Johnson & Stewart Nays: None ORDINANCE NO. 96-70 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1 , 1996 AND ENDING ' SEPTEMBER 30, 1997; PROVIDING FOR INTRA- AND INTER-DEPARTMENTAL FUND TRANSFERS; PROVIDING FOR INVESTMENT OF CERTAIN FUNDS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE ITEM 2. ORDINANCE, ADOPT FISCAL YEAR 1996-1997 AD VALOREM TAX RATE City Manager Petty requested the City Council consider an ordinance setting the Fiscal ' Year 1996-1997 ad valorem tax rate at 5.4150 per 5100.00 valuation apportioned as follows: General Fund 5.2808 Debt Service Fund $.1342 Council Member Pittman, seconded by Council Member Wilbanks, offered a motion to adopt the ordinance setting the ad valorem tax rate at 5.4150 per S 100.00 valuation for FY97. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Tate, Ware, Spencer, Wilbanks, Pittman, Johnson & Stewart Nays: None ORDINANCE N0. 96-71 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, SETTING THE ANNUAL TAX RATE FOR TAX YEAR 1996; LEVYING TAXES FOR THE TAX YEAR 1996 TO BE ASSESSED ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS; PROVIDING PENALTIES AND INTEREST FOR THE DELINQUENTTAXES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE 2 9/10/96 ADJOURNMENT Council Member Spencer, seconded by Council Member Stewart, offered a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 p.m. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Tate, Ware, Spencer, Wilbanks, Pittman, Johnson & Stewart Nays: None PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the t St day of October , 1996.
