The bid tabulation is attached for review. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this contract are available in the following account: 176-76103-005 1998 Capital Bonds $ 16,500.00 113-48899-312-10 TPWD Rec Trails Grant $ 71,495.00 171 -46680 -000 -NW Open Space Funds $ 22.000.00 Total $109,995.00 BACKGROUND: Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement was posted in the Fort Worth Star Telegram on June 20, 2004 and June 27, 2004. Letters of interest were sent to 28 contractors with five contractors responding. The purpose of this bid is to establish competitive pricing for trail improvements at Meadowmere Park which consists of the construction of 5,700 square yards of grading, including embankment preparation, slope protection, handrails, pipe fences, erosion control, materials, labor and appurtenances, and other miscellaneous items. This trail will be the first soft surface trail the City has built. The 10 -foot wide recycled asphalt trail will run from Kimball Road up Meadowmere Road to the soccer fields. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept for $84,000. This represents approximately 80% of the total project cost. It is anticipated to be completed by September. Staff recommends award of a contract to Green Scaping for a total amount not to exceed $108,236.00.
