RENEWAL OF BID 131-2002, ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR
ASPHALT MILLING
City Council to consider renewal of an annual contract to Dustrol, Inc. for the purchase
of asphalt milling services on an as needed basis. Purchases will be limited to the
annual budgeted amount for this commodity.

BACKGROUND:
Bids were originally taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252,
Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). Notice to bidders was
published in the Grapevine Sun and the Fort Worth Star Telegram on May 9, 2002 and
May 16, 2002. Bids were issued to nineteen vendors through the City's Internet web site
and one vendor responded to the invitation. Council first approved this contract on July
16, 2002.
This request is to renew the contract for asphalt milling services that will be ordered on
an as needed basis by the Street Division.
The original contract was for one year with an option to renew the contract for four
additional one-year periods. This would be the second renewal period. A stipulation of
the original bid allows for a price increase to be considered at contract renewal. The
vendor approved for this service was Dustrol, Inc. Dustrol has agreed to renew the
contract and has requested an overall price increase of less than 5%. A copy of the
original bid pricing and requested new pricing is attached. This vendor has satisfactorily
performed all bid requirements during the contract period.
Staff recommends renewal of the annual contract to Dustrol, Inc. for asphalt milling
services.
