SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE DONATION
OF FUNDS FROM THE GRAPEVINE-SOUTHLAKE SOCCER
ASSOCIATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE INSTALLATION
OF LIGHTS FOR THREE SOCCER FIELDS AT MEADOWMERE
PARK
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution to accept $85,200 from the Grapevine-
Southlake Soccer Association (GSSA) for the installation of lights for three soccer fields
at Meadowmere Park.
BACKGROUND:
At the June 1, 2004 Council meeting, the Council approved the donation of lights for
three soccer fields from the GSSA. The resolution before the Council is to accept the
funds from the GSSA for the installation of the lights for the three soccer fields at the
park. The total amount of the donation is $85,200 and would cover 100% of the amount
needed for the purchase and installation. No City funds would be expended for this
project.
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will consider the donation at the October 18th
meeting and staff will report on their vote at the meeting. Staff recommends approval of
the resolution.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, ACCEPTING DONATED FUNDS
FROM THE GRAPEVINE-SOUTHLAKE SOCCER
ASSOCIATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE
INSTALLATION OF LIGHTS FOR THREE SOCCER FIELDS
AT MEADOWMERE PARK; PROVIDING FOR THE
DONATION OF SAID FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNATE TO
PURCHASE THE LIGHTING; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Grapevine-Southlake Soccer
Association desires to donate $85,200.00 to City of Grapevine for the purpose of installing
lights for three soccer fields at Meadowmere Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine is of the belief that acceptance of the funds for
the installation of the lights would be highly beneficial to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS;
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City does accept the funds from the Grapevine-Southlake
Soccer Association in the amount of $85,200.00 for the purpose of the installation of lights
for three soccer fields at Meadowmere Park.
Section 3. That the City Manger, or his designee, is authorized to accept the funds
specified in this resolution and install the lights at Meadowmere Park
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 19th day of October, 2004.
