FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this contract are available in the following accounts: 173-48899-0003 TIF #2-CIP-Opryland/Ruth Wall......................................$30,679.00 BACKGROUND: The purpose of this bid is to establish competitive pricing for the purchase and site delivery of a packaged engine generator system. The packaged generator will provide backup power to the Ruth Wall Lift Station in the event of a power failure. The purchase is being funded under the Opryland TIF Program. This lift station serves Opryland Hotel and Convention Center and replaces the Wildwood Lift Station and the Trencor Lift Station. The generator is powered by a diesel engine, which switches on and off automatically in the event of power loss. The generator will be installed on a concrete pad adjacent to the existing lift station and inside the lift station security fence to prevent access to the general public. Bids were sent to eight vendors with two vendors responding. The lowest bid received was from Clifford Power Systems, Inc. Clifford Power met all of the required specifications of the bid. The second bidder submitted a bid that exceeded the required specifications stipulated in the bid package. Opryland Staff agrees with City Staff's recommendation to award the purchase to Clifford Power Systems, Inc. for a total amount not to exceed $30,679.00. Staff recommends approval.
