APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF FITNESS EQUIPMENT
FOR THE COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES CENTER
City Council to consider award of a contract to Fitco for the purchase of fitness
equipment in the total amount of $24,465.00.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are available in the lease fund to satisfy necessary debt payment requirements.

BACKGROUND:
This purchase is for fitness equipment for the Community Activities Center that includes
two treadmills, two stair -steppers and one cross -trainer. Council approved the budget for
this purchase during the budget process.
House Bill 197 raised the formal bid limit requirement from $15,000 to $25,000. In
accordance with City Purchasing Policy three written bids were solicited. Because the
total amount was under the $25,000 threshold, an advertisement was not required. A
copy of the bid tabulation is attached for review.
Fitco was the lowest bid received and met all of the required specifications.
Staff recommends approving the purchase from Fitco.
