SUBJECT: WORKSHOP — PROPOSED FARMERS' MARKET STRUCTURE
BACKGROUND:
During a workshop In October, Paul W. McCallum presented a plan to Council for the
Heritage Center and the Gazebo area. Tuesday night's workshop will include a
presentation of the proposed Farmers' Market structure to be located to the east of the
Gazebo.
Staff has worked with Mesa Design Group to define a structure that would meet the
function objectives of the City Council, as well as the historic and aesthetic needs of the
Gazebo park area.
Following the presentation to City Council in this workshop meeting, with City Council
consensus, the design will be presented to the Historic Preservation Commission on
January 28, 2004 and then will be brought before City Council for approval on February
3, 2004. Construction will begin shortly after that as the first event planned for this site is
the Garden Club's sale on April 30th
