CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING — 30TH YEAR COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG)
City Council conduct a Public Hearing to receive input relative to the proposed 30th Year
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program reconstruction of Worth Street
between Smith Street and Dooley Street, authorize staff to proceed with the submittal to
Tarrant County and take any necessary action.
FUNDING SOURCE:
The City of Grapevine is proposing a total contribution of funds in an amount not to
exceed $48,439.00 for this project. In the 29th Year application , the City committed
$ 22,405.00 in funds to this project. This 30th Year application increases the City's
participation by $ 26,035.00 for a total of $ 48,440.00. By providing these funds, the
City's CDBG application can potentially receive additional funding from the CDBG
program. The remainder of funding will be provided through the Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

0 BACKGROUND:
The scope of the project is the reconstruction of Worth Street between Smith Street and
Dooley Street. The estimated cost for this project is $246,440.00. As expected, funds
allocated in the 291h Year CDBG program ($99,000.00) combined with the City's
participation ($22,405.00) were insufficient to meet the cost of the project. We are
proposing that the remainder of the costs be funded from the 30th Year's CDBG program
allocations and additional City participation in the amount of $26,035.00.
This area is located in the Original Town of Grapevine, CDBG Target Area #1, bounded
by Wall Street, Dooley Street, College Street and Jenkins Street, designated as census
tract 1137.02.
These improvements will contribute to the upgrade of the area by providing an improved
roadway surface for Worth Street and improved storm drainage.
Staff recommends approval
