The specific locations targeted in this project were: • Dooley Street; Silverlake Elementary to Dunn Street • Dove Loop; Dooley Street to Boyd Drive • Boyd Drive; Dove Loop to Turner Road • College Street Crossing of Morehead Branch; Scribner Street to Ball Street • Winding Creek Addition network Connection to Woodlake Apartments Network We have identified three additional water line replacement segments that are either substandard or are experiencing repeated line failures that would make sense to add to this project due to their proximity to Dooley Street and to Boyd Drive. Specifically, • a 2" water line in Redbud Lane in the vicinity of the Dooley Street intersection is substandard to serve the residential areas as well as the Vineyards Campgrounds R:\AGENDA\2013 \11 -05 -13 \Water Project Design Contract Amendment- BHB.doc January 15, 2013 (1:32:48 PM) • an existing dead -end 6" line in Cable Creek Court just east of the Dooley Street waterline segment of the project can be connected with this project to improve water quality in the cul -de -sac, and • an additional segment of 8" waterline in Boyd Drive extending south from Turner Road to Northwest Highway has experienced a number of leaks in the past six months and needs to be replaced for improved reliability These three additional segments can be added to the current design contract and incorporated into the final construction contract. Construction cost estimate for the three segments are: 6" Line Redbud Lane $ 52,000 6" Line Cable Creek Ct Dead End Line $ 25,000 8" Line Boyd Drive South of Turner Road $ 104,000 Total $ 181,000 Staff recommends approval.
