RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for quote for a light
board and lighting at the Palace Arts Center from Dallas Sound & Lighting.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in 115-48860-350-03 (Machinery &
Equipment) for an amount not to exceed $16,941.00.
This purchase is for a new Hedge Hog 4 light board and theatrical lighting at the Palace
Arts Center. The current light board is failing and is the original board that was purchased
when the Palace opened. The new light board and LED lighting will allow the lights to
move and change colors as needed for the various performances that happen at the
theater.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids
and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000.00. Three quotes were
submitted as noted below. Dallas Sound & Lighting submitted the lowest quote meeting
specifications which included installation. TPS Audio Visual, LLC did not quote installation
as required.
