SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST
FOR QUOTE FOR A CHRISTIE PROJECTOR AT THE PALACE
ARTS CENTER
City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for quote for a
Christie projector at the Palace Arts Center from Affordable Audio Visual.
Funding for this purchase is currently available in 115-48860-350-03 (Machinery &
Equipment) for an amount not to exceed $19,427.00.
This purchase is to replace the projector at the Palace Arts Center that was placed into
service in 2001. The Christie D12HD-H, 11,000 lumen projector with 4.0-7.0:1 zoom lens,
will accommodate the technology needs that exist today. The current projector is unable
to provide those advanced technologies.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids
and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000.00. Three quotes were
submitted as noted below. Affordable Audio Visual submitted the lowest quote meeting
specifications.
Affordable Audio Visual $19,427.00
AVI-SPL $19,427.90
Christie Digital Systems $19,995.00
Staff recommends approval.
