RESOLUTION NO. CCPD 2006-05
A RESOLUTION OF THE GRAPEVINE CRIME CONTROL
AND PREVENTION DISTRICT TEMPORARY BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,
HAVING CANVASSED THE RESULTS OF THE
NOVEMBER 7, 2006 CRIME CONTROL AND
PREVENTION DISTRICT ELECTION HEREBY
ESTABLISHES THE CREATION OF SAID DISTRICT AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas, a Home Rule Municipality, located in
Tarrant, Dallas and Denton Counties, Texas; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 363 of the Texas Local Government Code, the
City of Grapevine duly called an election on November 7, 2006, for the purpose of
presenting to the voters a proposition to increase the sales and use tax as permitted
and for such purposes as prescribed under such statute; and
WHEREAS, the results of the Crime Control and Prevention District Election, as
duly canvassed and tabulated, the proposition passed by a vote of 7987 to 3039; and
WHEREAS, the majority of the votes cast favor creation of a Crime Control and
Prevention District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GRAPEVINE CRIME
CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT TEMPORARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That it is hereby ordered that the Grapevine Crime Control and
Prevention District is declared created pursuant to Chapter 363 of the Texas Local
Government Code.
Section 2. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date
of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE GRAPEVINE CRIME CONTROL AND
PREVENTION DISTRICT TEMPORARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 15th day of November, 2006.
