RESOLUTION NO. CCPD 2008-01
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION
DISTRICT BOARD PROVIDING THAT THE FISCAL YEAR
SHALL BE FROM OCTOBER 1 UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30 OF
EACH CALENDAR YEAR FOR THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE
CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT;
CHANGING THE PROCEDURES FOR HOLDING PUBLIC
HEARINGS ON THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION
DISTRICT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 363 of the Texas Local Government Code (the
"Code") the City of Grapevine created City of Grapevine Crime Control and Prevention
District ("CGCCPD") through an election held on November 7, 2006; and
?_ WHEREAS, Chapter 363.201(a) provides that the Board of Directors for the
CGCCPD ("Board") shall establish the fiscal year for the CGCCPD and the CGCCPD
shall operate on the basis of that year; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 363.204(f) provides that the Board may adopt procedures
for adopting a budget different than those established in that section so long as the
Board holds public hearings relating to the budget; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the CGCCPD to make the fiscal year
coincide with the fiscal year of the City of Grapevine, Texas, being October 1 to
September 30 of each calendar year; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the CGCCPD to make the public hearings
on the CGCCPD coincide with the public hearings of the City of Grapevine, Texas as
required by the City of Grapevine City Charter and State law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT:
Section 1. That all matters stated herein above are true and correct and are
incorporated herein by reference, as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the Board of Directors for the Crime Control and Prevention
District hereby establishes the fiscal year for the City of Grapevine Crime Control and
Prevention District to be October 1 to September 30 of each calendar year. The City of
Grapevine Crime Control and Prevention District shall operate on the basis of this fiscal
year.
Section 3. That the Board of Directors for the Crime Control and Prevention
District shall hold public hearings on its proposed budget on the same day as the City of
Grapevine's public hearings for its budget.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage by
the Board of Directors of the City of Grapevine Crime Control and Prevention District.
