HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 09 - 29th Year CDBGMEMO TO: FROM: MEETING DATE: SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL ROGER NELSON, CITY MANAGER #1 JANUARY 21, 2003 CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING — 29TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG) City Council conduct a Public Hearing to receive input relative to the proposed 29th year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program reconstruction of Worth Street between Smith Street and Dooley Street, authorize to proceed with the submittal to Tarrant County and take any necessary action. FUNDING SOURCE: The City of Grapevine is proposing to contribute funds in the amount not to exceed $22,405.00 for this project. By providing these funds, the City's CDBG application is more likely to receive additional funding from the CDBG program. The remainder of funding will be provided through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Funds are available in the following accounts: Funding Source Trans. Infrastructure 29' Yr. The estimated cost of this project is $239,035.00. The staff is uncertain y of the total amount of CDBG funds that will be available from this 291h year's program. If CDBG funds from the 29th year and the City's participation are insufficient, then the remainder of the cost will be funded from future year's CDBG program applications (30th year). This area is located in the Original Town of Grapevine, CDBG Target Area #1, bounded by Wall Street, Dooley Street, College Street and Jenkins Street, designated as census tract 1137.02. These improvements will contribute to the upgrade of the area by providing an improved roadway surface for Worth Street and improved storm drainage.
