SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF GOLF CARTS FOR THE
MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of the purchase of golf carts for the Municipal Golf
Course from Club Car Corporation in the total amount of $200,550.00. A bid tabulation is
attached for review.
FUNDING:
Funds are available in the lease fund to satisfy necessary debt payment requirements.

BACKGROUND:
This procurement will be made in accordance with Texas Local Government Code,
Chapter 252.021(a)(2) that authorizes political subdivisions to solicit bids through a
reverse auction procedure. This procedure allows vendors to submit multiple competitive
bids electronically until the bid closing date. Although pricing is available throughout the
bid process the vendor identities are kept sealed until the end of the bid.
This bid is for the purchase of 94 electric, two gas and one courtesy golf carts and
included a trade-in allowance for 68 golf carts. The bid was issued to 18 vendors
registered to receive bids with two vendors responding. Club Car Corporation was the
lowest bid received for a total purchase price of $200,550.00 including the trade-in
value. Club Car met all of the specifications required by the bid.
Staff recommends approval of an award to Club Car Corporation.
