HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 03 - Rotary Mower for Municipal Golf Course5 ITEM J MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: ROGER NELSON, CITY MANAGER"IL/ MEETING DATE: MARCH 4, 2003 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF A ROTARY MOWER FOR THE MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE THROUGH THE TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT PURCHASING COOPERATIVE PROGRAM RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval of the purchase of a Toro Rotary Mower for the Municipal Golf Course from Professional Turf Products, Inc. in the total amount of $40,631.82. FUNDING: Funds are available in the Lease Fund to satisfy necessary debt payment requirements. Account 325-448860-000-0-0006, Machinery and Equipment/ FY2003 BACKGROUND: This procurement will be under the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 791, Texas Local Government Code that states that any entity participating through an interlocal agreement satisfies any bidding requirements required under State law. City Council approved the interlocal agreement and participation in the Cooperative during their meeting on September 18, 2001. This purchase will be made through the Cooperative's e-commerce Internet Web site at www.buyboard.com. This purchase is for a Toro Ground Following Rotary Mower 4500-D that will be used for the Municipal Golf Course. City Council approved this purchase during the budget process for procurement in fiscal year 2003. Bids for this model were taken by the Cooperative and awarded to Professional Turf Products. The total amount of this purchase is $40,631.82 Staff recommends approval of this purchase from Professional Turf Products in the total amount of $40,631.82.
