Sego, Inc. as primary contractor and Airport Sand and Gravel as secondary contractor for material disposal services. Annual Contract expenditures will be limited to the budget amount approved during the budget process for this service. A bid tabulation is attached for review. FUNDING SOURCE: 174-43301-090-000 St. Maint./Cap. Replacement/Trans. Infrast. Maint.....$10,000 116-43301-535-1 Storm Drainage Utility/Trans. Infrast. Maint.................$20,000 BACKGROUND: Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). Bids were publicly read aloud per the attached tabulation sheet. Notice to bidders was published in the Grapevine Sun and the Fort Worth Star Telegram on February 14, 2002 and February 21, 2002. This contract established fixed pricing for disposal services of excavated material to be used on an as needed basis by the Street Department. The bid was sent to thirteen vendors with four vendors responding. The bid requested pricing on various truckload configuration disposal of asphalt, concrete, dirt, brush and building debris. Shred -Tech d.b.a. Sego, Inc. was overall low bid on the unit price for each bid item and met all specification requirements. Airport Sand and Gravel was second low bid on the disposal of asphalt, concrete and dirt. Both vendors have successfully performed the services required by the contract and have agreed to renew their contracts at no increase in contract pricing. April 25, 2003 (4:34PM)
