REJECTION OF ALL BIDS RECEIVED UNDER BID 159-2003
FOR HYDRAULIC RESCUE TOOLS
City Council to consider rejecting all bids received under bid 159-2003 for hydraulic
rescue tools for the Fire Department. The bid tabulation is attached for review.

BACKGROUND:
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement was posted in
the Grapevine Sun on May 1, 2003 and May 8, 2003.
The purpose of this bid was to establish pricing for the purchase of hydraulic rescue
tools for the Fire Department. Bids were issued to fifteen vendors with two vendors
responding.
One bid, from Specialty Rescue Fire Services, was received after the bid opening date
and time. In accordance with City policy, that bid could not be considered for an award.
The other bid received from Metro Fire Apparatus Specialists did not meet the
specification requirements of the bid.
Staff recommends rejecting all bids received and re -bidding all items.
