OPRYLAND ENTRY FEATURE EASEMENT AGREEMENT —
GAYLORD TRAIL
City Council to consider approving an easement agreement with Opryland Hotel — Texas
permitting the construction of an entry feature including an arch spanning the
northbound lanes of Gaylord Trail, authorize staff to execute said agreement and take
any necessary action.
BACKGROUND:
In conjunction with the planned entry theme and wall system on the east and west sides
of Gaylord Trail, Opryland requested the City's permission to erect an entry feature /
arch spanning the northbound lanes of Gaylord Trail. This entry feature is located
approximately 98 feet north of the north curb line of SH 26 and serves to connect the
wall system through the Gaylord Trail right-of-way. The City Attorney has determined
that the granting of an easement will satisfy Opryland's request.
The attached renderings reflect the dimensions of the entry features proposed within the
Gaylord Trail right-of-way.
The easement is 20 feet in width and is centered on the centerline of the span, located
approximately 97.6' from the SH 26 curb line. The easement spans a length of 100 feet
to include the main arch spanning the roadway as well as a smaller secondary arch
spanning the west sidewalk. The vertical clearance above the roadway will be a
minimum of 15 feet 6inches.
Staff recommends approval.
