HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 13 - 25th and 26th Year CDBG Projectsr-) MEMO TO: FROM: MEETING DATE SUBJECT RECOMMENDATION: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL ROGER NELSON, CITY MANAGER SEPTEMBER 5, 2000 25th& 26th YEAR CDBG PROJECTS / SMITH STREET RECONSTRUCTION - CONTRACT APPROVAL City Council consider approving Base Bid A of a contract between Tarrant County and Richard Carr Construction, Inc. for the reconstruction of Smith Street within the Original Town of Grapevine under the 251h and 26th Year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs, authorize staff to forward the approval recommendation to Tarrant County officials, and take any necessary action. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available for this project from the 23' (Surplus), 25th, and 26th Year CDBG Program Allocations as follows: Budget Funds 23' Year CDBG $11,684.20 Construction $141,471.80 94.2% 25' Year CDBG $66,001.00 Contingency $8,714.40. 5.8% 26th Year CDBG $72,501.00 TOTAL $150,186.20 100.0% TOTAL $150,186.20 BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project consists of the reconstruction of Smith Street within the area of the Original Town of Grapevine bounded by Wall Street, Dooley Street, College Street and Jenkins Street. The 25th and 26th Year CDBG projects were bid as two different base bids, A and B. Base Bid A included the reconstruction of Smith Street between College Street and Worth Street (two blocks total).
