The planned elevated water storage tank would connect to this 20" water line at Shady Brook and on the north side of the employee parking lot. September 27, 2000 (8:39AM) ,S However, the TNRCC has mandated a new location for the elevated storage tank and subsequently required modifications to this 20" waterline route. The least costly approach from a construction standpoint will be to route the 20" line north along Scribner for approximately 650 feet then east along Peach Street and then northeasterly across the Julian Head tract and the Service Center tract to connect with the existing east/ west 20" waterline. The elevated storage tank will be located on the Julian Head tract and will be fed by the new 20" waterline route. A 12" waterline will be constructed up Scribner Street from Peach Street to Shady Brook to provide adequate water supply to the Service Center area and connect to the existing system west of the Service Center. The net increase in the design contract reflects design work to reroute the 20" waterline and takes into account the current unexpended fees from the original contract. Of the initial $38,050.00 contract, there is a balance of $6,918.44. The proposal from Cheatham and Associates to reroute the line to serve the new location for the elevated storage tank is a total of $34,245.00. With the balance of the initial contract available, the net increase to the contract is now $27,326.56. Cheatham and Associates proposal is proportionally inline with their initial proposal based upon linear footage of pipe and anticipated costs, and falls within the Engineering Fee Curves. The work on this route modification needs to proceed as quickly as n possible to ensure that the waterline is in place and functional by the start of next summer. The elevated storage tank will not be operational by next summer but this segment of waterline is a major contributor to the north/ south trunk system from TRA serving the north area of the City.
