SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT RENEWAL, BID NUMBER 8117,
PROPANE
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider renewal of a contract to Mitchell Butane Gas Sales for propane
fuel. Expenditures will not exceed the annual budgeted amount of $27,000.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this contract are available in the following accounts:
315-42285-2 Fleet Management/Fleet Services/Motor Vehicle Supplies .... $27,000.
BACKGROUND:

Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a).
This is the second and last renewal of the current contract that was first approved by
Council on November 17, 1998. This contract established firm pricing for the propane
fuel requirements for Fleet Services. Mitchell Butane Gas Sales has performed this
service satisfactorily for several years. A copy of the original bid tabulation is attached
for review.
Staff recommends approval.
