The Notice to Proceed with Construction was issued on August 14, 2000. R:IAGENDA\11-21-00\Parr Park AGM CO No. 2.doc November 13, 2000 (1:57 PM) 0 BACKGROUND: The contract for the construction of the Parr Park Restroom Facility was awarded to Keck and Company, Inc. by City Council on July 18, 2000. The Notice to Proceed with Construction was issued on August 14, 2000. Change Order No. 1 was approved by the Director of Public Works on August 29, 2000 and included the following three changes: a. Installation of a double check valve on the 2" domestic water line, required by our Public Works Construction Specifications; and, b. Installation of fill material related to the raising of the Finish Floor elevation 9 inches; and, C. Upgrade of the Sanitary Sewer line for a creek crossing. Change Order No. 1 was in the amount of $14,283.50. Change Order No. 2 proposes the following three changes: a. Furnishing and installing the City standard, green and purple, colorized 24"x 24" Stone -carved Grapevine Logo in lieu of a non -colorized Sandstone Block; and, b. Furnishing and installing necessary electrical conduit, junction box and masonry preparation for installation of Parks and Recreation Department's irrigation hardware and controllers; and, C. Furnishing and installing matching painted steel frames above steel entrance gates to roof deck, for vandalism prevention and facility security. Change Order No. 2 is in the amount of $1,961.30. Construction of this project is anticipated to be complete in January of 2001. Staff recommends approval. Pursuant to Paragraph 15 of the above -referenced Contract, the Contractor is directed to make the following changes in the Work: A. Furnish materials and labor to install a double check valve on the 2" domestic water line. This item was not indicated on the original construction drawings, complete in place: $925.00 B. Furnish materials and labor to raise Finish Floor elevation from 554.2 to 555.01: $685.00 C. Furnish materials and labor to provide approximately 75 LF of 6" ductile iron pipe for sanitary sewer encased in concrete, including footing; for creek crossing as indicated on attached detail sheet: $11,375.00 SUBTOTAL: $12,985.00 D. Furnish materials and labor to install green and purple colored, etched 24"x 24" Grapevine Logo block in lieu -of -specified -Sandstone -block, -complete in place: $720.00 B: Furnish and Install two - 4" Schedule 90 PVC conduits with 90 -degree sweeps, connecting to a metal junction box. Drill two - 4" holes through masonry wall to facilitate installation (by City) of irrigation controllers. City to provide excavation: $538.00 \Uy C.
