The Grapevine Utility Master Plan called for upgraded facilities when December 13, 2000 (1:59PM) additional development exceeded the capacity of the lift station. The development of multifamily and commercial development in the area necessitates the initiation of this project. Although the lift station was upgraded recently, the force main needs to be enlarged. Montgomery Watson Americas Inc. was selected to provide the engineering design services for the force main. Change Order Number 2 During the design phase the Fellowship Church platted the property that the lift station is located on and requested that the pipeline be relocated to allow the Church to better utilize their property. This request necessitated a redesign with an additional engineering fee was $7,906. The Fellowship Church reimbursed the City of Grapevine this amount. Change Order Number 3 The current force main route is Bass Pro Dr. to State Highway 26 to Ruth Wall and terminates at Boyd and Wildwood. This alignment was utilized for the design of new facility. The existing force main must be kept in service during construction, which means the new force main must be built in a new easement. Since Staff was unsuccessful in negotiating a new easement on Ruth Wall Street a new alignment and redesign of that section of the force main was done. The new alignment will follow State Highway 26 to Boyd and north on Boyd to Wildwood. The redesign fee is $27,089. Staff recommends approval of change order number 2 and 3 in the amount of $7,906 and $27,089 respectively. MS/ms December 13, 2000 (1:59PM)
