SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST
FOR QUOTE FOR BACKLIT SIGN ARMS
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for quote for backlit
sign arms for various street locations.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase will be available in Quality of Life fund 121-48860-415-15-0040
(Backlit Street Name Signs) for FY2017 for an amount not to exceed $19,500.00.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase is for mounting arms for backlit street name signs on traffic signal poles at
10 intersections.

FM2499 & Grapevine Mills Blvd N FM2499 & Apartment Drive

Mustang Drive & Stone Meyers Pkwy Main Street & Vine Street
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids
and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000.00. Three quotes were
submitted as noted below. Structural & Steel Products, Inc. submitted the lowest quote
meeting specifications.
Structural & Steel Products, Inc. $19,500.00
Pelco Structural, LLC $20,832.00
Union Metal $28,250.00
Staff recommends approval.
