SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE MULTIPLE AWARD OF AN ANNUAL
CONTRACT FOR TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the award of Request for Bid 440-2016 as a multiple
award annual contract to Abacus Corporation and Temporaries of Texas, Inc. for
temporary employment services.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this purchase are available in various departmental accounts in an estimated
annual amount of $250,000.00.
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for temporary employment
services for various departments. The contracts will be with Abacus Corporation and with
Temporaries of Texas, Inc. Both contracts will be for an initial one-year period with four,
one-year renewal options.
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B,
Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement was posted in the
Fort Worth Star Telegram on July 28 and August 4, 2016. There were 48 invitations sent
out through the eBid Procurement system with 17 vendors downloading and viewing the
RFB. There were five bids received. See bid tabulation below for details.
