CONTRACT RENEWAL OF BID 29-1999, POLICE UNIFORM
CLEANING — ANNUAL CONTRACT
City Council to consider renewal of an annual contract to purchase police uniform
cleaning services from Metro Cleaners on an as needed basis. Purchases will be limited
to the annual budgeted amount for this commodity. The bid tabulation for this bid is
attached for review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in account:
100-42220-209-2 General Fund/Uniform Operations/Clothing Supplies ... $39,177.00
BACKGROUND:
This request is to renew the annual contract for cleaning services of police uniforms. The
original award was approved by Council on November 2, 1999 and renewed by Council
on November 7, 2000. The contract covers the cleaning of shirts, pants, jackets and
jump suits.
The original contract was for a one-year period with an option to renew for two additional
one-year periods. This is the second and last renewal period.
Metro Cleaners was awarded the original contract and has performed this service
satisfactorily. A copy of the original agenda memo and bid tabulation is attached for
review.
Staff recommends approval of the contract renewal to Metro Cleaners.
