SUBJECT: RENEWAL OF AN ANNUAL CONTRACT UNDER BID 90-2001,
CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENT SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a contract renewal to Randall and Blake as primary
contractor and to Ed A. Wilson as secondary contractor to establish fixed pricing for the
purchase of curb and gutter construction services on an as needed basis for the Street
Division. Purchases will be limited to the annual budgeted amount for this commodity.
The original bid tabulation for this bid is attached for review.

174-43301-090-000 Street Maintenance Capital Replacement/Annual Street Maintenance
and Overlay/ /Transportation Infrastructure Maintenance............................$48,000.00
BACKGROUND:
This bid is to establish an annual contract for construction services to build or replace
curbs and/or gutters on an as needed basis for the Street Division. The bid was sent to
fifteen vendors with two vendors responding. Bids were opened on April 6, 2001 and
initially approved by Council on April 17, 2001.
The initial award was made to Randall and Blake as primary contractor and to Ed A.
Wilson as secondary contractor for this service. Both vendors have performed this
service satisfactorily during the initial contract period and have agreed to renew the
contract at no additional increase in pricing. A copy of the original agenda memo and bid
tabulation is attached for review.
Staff recommends renewal of a primary contract to Randall and Blake and a secondary
contract to Ed A. Wilson.
