CANVASS RESULTS OF 2002 CITY OFFICER ELECTION
Consider a resolution declaring the results of the May 4, 2002 City Officer Election for
Council Place 5 and Council Place 6.
BACKGROUND:
There are 27,506 registered voters in the City as of April 15, 2002. The election was held
on Saturday, May 4, 2002, with citizens casting votes for the following candidates:
Place 5 Ted R. Ware
Thomas L. McCullough (Declared Write -In)
Place 6 Scott Sanford
Roy Stewart
There will be a revised memo and resolution provided at the May 7 meeting showing the
total number of voters and votes cast for each candidate.

ME RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
2002 CITY OFFICER ELECTION AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, there came to be considered the returns of an election held on the 4th
day of May, 2002 for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials, and it
appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election
valid and legal votes; and
WHEREAS, each of the candidates in said election received the following votes:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1, That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was
given in accordance with law; and that said election was held in accordance with law; and
that the following named person was duly elected to the office indicated:
Council Place 5
Council Place 6
Section 2. That the said above persons are hereby declared duly elected to said
respective office, subject to the taking of the oath and filing bond as provided by the laws
of this State and the ordinances of this City.
Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date of
its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 7th day of May, 2002.
