SUBJECT: SANITARY SEWER LINE OVERSIZING REIMBURSEMENT
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council consider authorizing sanitary sewer line oversizing reimbursement to Glade
Corners, Ltd., in the amount of $12,063.35, for the construction of a 10- and 12- inch
sanitary sewer main in associated with the Glade Corners Development along State
Highway 360, authorize staff to issue payment to Glade Corners, Ltd. upon completion of
the work, and take any necessary action.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are available in the WasteWater Impact Fee Fund Balance.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Glade Corners, Ltd., is developing the Glade Corners Retirement Community on 10.75
acres of land located at the northeast corner of Grapevine -Euless Road and Glade Road.
Glade Corners, Ltd. has been required to oversize a sanitary sewer main to accommodate
the City's Master Water Plan.
Under normal development conditions, this development would be required to construct
an 8 inch sanitary sewer main, which is adequate to provide service for this type of
development. The City Code provides for the City of Grapevine to refund private
developments for the oversizing costs attributable to the difference in costs of lines
necessary for their development compared to lines required by the City's Master Water and
Wastewater Plans.
The developer has submitted a cost proposal of $42,048.63 for the 10- and 12- inch
sanitary sewer main. The net oversizing costs owed to the development is $12,063.35.
For comparison purposes, staff has reviewed the 10- and 12- inch sanitary sewer main
RIME- costs to other 10- and 12- inch sanitary sewer main costs. The costs reflected in the
request are comparable to other sanitary sewer main costs for the same line sizes.
Therefore, staff feels that the prices presented by the developer are reasonable costs for
this type of work.
Staff recommends approval.
