SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT RENEWAL, BID NUMBER 92-2001,
POLICE UNIFORMS
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider a contract renewal to provide police uniforms to the Police
Department on an as needed basis. A copy of the original agenda memo and bid
tabulation is attached for review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
100-42220-209-2 General Fund/Police Uniform Ops/Clothing Supplies ......... $68,200.00
BACKGROUND:
This request is to renew an annual contract for Police Uniforms.
Council first approved award of this contract to Direct Action Uniforms on May 15, 2001.
The contract was for an initial one-year period with an option to renew for three
additional one-year periods. This is the first renewal period. This bid established annual
pricing for police uniforms that are ordered on an `as needed' basis. The original agenda
memo and bid tabulation is attached for review.
Direct Action Uniforms was the lowest bid received. This company has performed this
service satisfactorily during the initial contract period.
Staff recommends approval.
