SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION TO DONATE SURPLUS
COMPUTER EQUIPMENT TO THE CITY OF HURST
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution declaring certain computer equipment
as surplus due to the receipt of newer equipment approved by Council on December 4,
2001 and donating the surplus equipment to the City of Hurst Police Department.
BACKGROUND:
The Police Department recently replaced six laptop computers with docking stations as
an upgrade to existing equipment. Council approved the new equipment on December
4, 2001. The surplus computers are Cycomm P.C. Mobile computers. These computers
are proprietary and the configuration is built specifically for a police environment. The
Cycomm computers are incompatible with our 800 mHz system. The Hurst Police
Department Technical Services Division currently uses and is in need of this type of
computer. Because of the specific police use and configuration of this type of computer,
staff recommends the donation to the Hurst Police Department.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY
SURPLUS AND/OR SALVAGE; PROVIDING FOR THE
DONATION OF SAID PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF HURST
POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine is in possession of
surplus and/or salvage property; and
WHEREAS, these items would be of use to the City of Hurst Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the following items are declared surplus and are donated to the
City of Hurst:
