APPROVAL OF BID 92-2001 POLICE UNIFORMS—ANNUAL
CONTRACT
City Council to consider approval of an annual contract award to Direct Action Uniforms
for the purchase of various types of police uniforms on an as needed basis. Purchases
will be limited to the annual budgeted amount for this commodity. The bid tabulation is
attached for review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in account:
100-42220-209-2 General Fund/Uniform Operations/Clothing Supplies .... $68,000.00
BACKGROUND:
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code, Section 252.021. Notice of
the bid was published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and the Grapevine Sun on April
5, 2001 and April 12, 2001. In addition, the bid was advertised on the City purchasing
web site. The web site had bid forms available for download.
This bid establishes fixed annual pricing for the purchase of police uniforms on an as
needed basis. The contract includes an initial one-year period with an option to renew
for three additional one-year periods. Direct Action Uniforms was the lowest bid and met
all of the required specifications.
Staff recommends approval.
