SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY OF THE LIBRARY
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider a resolution declaring excess property due to the Library
expansion as surplus and/or salvage and to authorize the sale of these items in a public
auction.
BACKGROUND:
The Library will be moving in May and certain miscellaneous items such as equipment,
furniture, computers and accessories have been deemed as unusable. As part of the
expansion, the Library ordered and received new furniture and equipment.
In an effort to recycle the items all will be offered to other City Departments before
disposal at auction.
Staff recommends approval of the resolution.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY
SURPLUS AND/OR SALVAGE AND PROVIDING FOR THE
AUTHORIZATION OF THE SALE OF SAID PROPERTY
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that The City of Grapevine, Texas is in
possession of items of surplus and/or salvage library property; and
WHEREAS, the procedure for notification of the owners of surplus and/or
salvage property as outlined in the State of Texas statute has been met.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct
and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.

Section 2. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
conduct the sale of said property.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
