HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 04 - Oak Grove Soccer Complex ���� � _____�_.___ �- MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER i.�� MEETING DATE: NOVEMBER 4, 2008 SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A RESTROOM FACILITY FROM CXT PRECAST PRODUCTS FOR THE OAK GROVE SOCCER COMPLEX RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider a resolution awarding a contract to CXT Precast Products for the purchase of a precast concrete restroom facility to be located at the Oak Grove Soccer Complex in the total amount of $172,111. The resolution is attached for review. Also, staff will have a photo of the exterior treatments of the restroom facility at the meeting. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds will come from account 121-48840-312-09-000001 Council Quality of Life Fund. BACKGROUND: At the September 16, 2008 Council Workshop, staff recommended several improvements to the Oak Grove Soccer Complex. These improvements included paved parking lots, new play equipment and a new centrally located restroom facility. The Council directed staff to proceed with the improvements. Staff is in the process of getting prices on the paved parking lots, electrical, water and sewer for the restroom facility from the construction contractor doing the renovations at the Oak Grove Ballfield Complex and will prepare a change order for Council to consider for these improvements. The proposed restroom facility would have three toilets and two sinks in the women's restroom and two toilets, a urinal and two sinks in the men's restroom. A storage room would be attached to the restroom facility. The new restroom facility would be a concrete structure like the new restroom at Katie's Woods Boat Ramp and at Bear Creek Park. The Council Facilities Committee reviewed several options for exterior treatments at a meeting on October 2ptn � ' October 29, 2008 (3:53PM) Government Code, Section 271.102. The purchasing agreement will satisfy all bidding requirements under the Local Government Code. The State TXMAS program are contracts established by the Federal General Services Commission and offered by the State to all State agencies that belong to the State cooperative purchasing program. Staff recommends approval of the resolution to purchase the restroom facility from CXT Precast Products in the total amount of $172,111. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, TO RATIFY THE PURCHASE OF A RESTROOM FACILITY FOR THE OAK GROVE SOCCER COMPLEX FROM CXT PRECAST PRODUCTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102 to enter into a cooperative purchasing program agreement with other qualified entities in the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, the State of Texas TXMAS program is a qualified purchasing cooperative program as authorized by Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas, has established an Interlocal Agreement with the State of Texas TXMAS program and wishes to utilize established contracts meeting all State of Texas requirements; and WHEREAS, the State of Texas TXMAS program has established contracts with � CXT Precast Products for the restroom facility. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas authorizes the purchase of the restroom facility from CXT Precast Products for the Oak Grove Soccer Complex for a total cost not to exceed $172,111.00. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps necessary to consummate the purchase of said restroom facility. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ON THIS THE 4th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2008.
