SUBJECT: CONDITIONAL USE REQUEST CU13 -19A, LA BUENA VIDA
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission accept the
applicant's request to table conditional use request CU13 -19A to the December 17, 2013
meeting, and take any other action necessary.

The applicant, Ms. Gina Puente, the owner and operator of La Buena Vida Vineyards
located at 416 East College Street initially submitted a conditional use request to convert
the wine tasting room into a full - service restaurant with on- premise alcohol beverage sales
limited to wine only which was to be considered at the September 17, 2013 meeting. The
applicant asked for the public hearing relative to her request be tabled to the November 19
meeting. Since that time the applicant has become aware of a new alcohol beverage
permit recently made available by the Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission known as a
Wine and Beer Retailer's Permit (BG Permit). The applicant is asking to table the request
to the December 17 meeting in order to further research options relative to this new permit.

I would like to respectfully request that we table the La Buena Vida agenda item until the December 17th,
2013 City Council meeting. I would like the opportunity to explore options and to research the Wine &
Beer Retailer's permit (BG).
