HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 10 - Surplus PropertyMEMO TO: FROM: MEETING DATE: SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION: ITEM • /0 HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL ROGER NELSON, CITY MANAGER;*/ SEPTEMBER 4, 2001 APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY City Council to consider a resolution declaring the attached listed property surplus and/or salvage and to authorize sale of these items through sealed bid or public auction. BACKGROUND: The City has ordered and/or received all of its fleet replacements authorized by Council for the fiscal year. Exhibit "A" includes fleet vehicles that have been replaced and are no longer needed for City use based on the City's fleet replacement policy. The replacement policy for these vehicles considers age (light duty trucks with 6 years of service or more), and mileage (80,000 or more). Surplus property will be sold through either a sealed bid process or through public auction. Staff recommends the approval of the resolution. CD/sjw August 29, 2001 (4:18PM) RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY SURPLUS AND/OR SALVAGE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH EXHIBIT "A", PROVIDING FOR THE AUTHORIZATION OF THE SALE OF SAID PROPERTY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine is in possession of items of surplus and/or salvage property (certain fleet vehicles); and WHEREAS, the procedure for notification of the owners of surplus and/or salvage property; as outlined in the State Statute, has been met. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. rt Section 2. That all items described in "EXHIBIT A", attached hereto and made a part of hereof, are hereby declared surplus and/or salvage. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to conduct the sale of said property. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage.
