The total amount of this expenditure is $61,282. FUNDING SOURCE: 174-74004-002 St. Maintenance/Capital Replacement/CAC Repairs and Maint..$72,000 BACKGROUND: Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.021, 252.0215, and 252.022. This bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and the Grapevine Sun on August 16, 2001 and August 23, 2001. The purpose of this bid was to obtain competitive pricing for the replacement of the carpet at the Community Activity Center. The bid was sent to sixteen vendors with one vendor responding. A pre-bid conference was held on September 4, 2001 to answer any questions that potential vendors might have regarding the specifications. two vendors attended the pre-bid conference. The bid required each vendor to visit the CAC and base their pricing on the vendors estimates of the square yardage required for the installation of carpet in all areas of the center currently carpeted. The lowest overall bid was from DuPont Flooring at $61,282. If the bid is approved as recommended, the carpet can be installed at the facility during the week of October 22nd, which is the week between class sessions at the Community Activities Center. This will minimize the impact on the citizens that utilize the facility for classes. In addition, a portion of the facility will always be open to citizens during the installation of the carpet.
