HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 17 - Surplus PropertyITEM / MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: ROGER NELSON, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: NOVEMBER 20, 2001 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS PROPERTY RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider a resolution declaring property as surplus and/or salvage and to authorize sale of these items through sealed bid or public auction. BACKGROUND: The surplus and/or salvage property includes miscellaneous office equipment such as desks, copier machines, filing cabinets, computer hardware and chairs; golf maintenance equipment such as mowers; janitorial equipment such as buffers and cleaning solutions and miscellaneous fleet parts such as tires, radios and automotive hardware that have been recycled throughout City departments and have been deemed unusable. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY SURPLUS AND/OR SALVAGE, PROVIDING FOR THE AUTHORIZATION OF THE SALE OF SAID PROPERTY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine is in possession of items of surplus and/or salvage; and WHEREAS, the procedure for notification of the owners of surplus and/or salvage property; as outlined in the State Statute, has been met. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That all items described in the attached Exhibit "A" are hereby declared surplus and/or salvage. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to conduct the sale of said property. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this 20th day of November, 2001.
