SUBJECT: CONSIDER A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A GRANT
APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY THE GRAPEVINE-SOUTHLAKE
SOCCER ASSOCIATION FOR LIGHTS FOR SOCCER FIELD #3
AT MEADOWMERE PARK
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Council approve a resolution supporting a grant application
submitted by the Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association to North Texas Soccer for
lights for soccer field #3 at Meadowmere Park. The resolution is attached for review.
BACKGROUND:
Officials from the Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association have asked the City to
support their grant application to North Texas Soccer for lights for soccer field #3 at
Meadowmere Park. The soccer association is asking for approximately $72,000 from
North Texas Soccer which is the total cost of the lights for the soccer field.
Over the past five years, the Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association has invested over
$250,000 in improvements to the soccer fields at Oak Grove Park and Meadowmere
Park.
Staff recommends approval.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, SUPPORTING A GRANT
APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY THE GRAPEVINE-
SOUTHLAKE SOCCER ASSOCIATION TO NORTH TEXAS
SOCCER FOR LIGHTS FOR SOCCER FIELD #3 AT
MEADOWMERE PARK AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine is supportive of
efforts to improve the athletic fields in Grapevine; and
WHEREAS, the Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association has an opportunity to
receive a grant from North Texas Soccer to provide lights to soccer field #3 at
Meadowmere Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
�:. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine supports the grant
application submitted by the Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association for lights for soccer
field #3 at Meadowmere Park and agrees to maintain the lights once installed.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 18th day of November, 2008.
