SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF
ASSET MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE FOR THE GIS SYSTEM
AS A SOLE SOURCE
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution to declare GBA Master Series, Inc. a
sole source provider for the purchase of Asset Management Software for the GIS
System. The total cost of this software is not to exceed $43,320.00.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 200-44540-533-1 Utility
Enterprise Fund/General Administrative Service/Professional Services
BACKGROUND:
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with. Local Government
Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (a) (7) (A).
This request is for the purchase of asset management software that will be integrated
into the GIS system. The GBA Master Series software is the only known source that can
provide tools to manage, access and integrate sewer, water, storm, and street
information into the GIS system. The GBA Master Series software contains modules for
managing sanitary sewer systems, water distribution systems, streets and pavement
and storm water systems in addition to GIS and work order management and customer
complaint tracking.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN
FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF ASSET
MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE; DETERMINING THAT THE
SOFTWARE IS AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
SAID CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to purchase asset management software
that will operate as part of the City's GIS system; and
WHEREAS, GBA Master Series, Inc. is the only known provider of the asset
management software.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
of the asset management software for a total not to exceed $43,320.00.
Section 3. That the City Manger, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of said maintenance agreement.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 19th day of NOVEMBER, 2002.
