MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE GITY COUNCIL

SUBJECT: WORKSHOP — PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Grapevine resident, Mr. Charlie Hare, has requested the City Council discuss adding the
Pledge of Allegiance to the City Council agendas.
Staff surveyed the surrounding cities in the Metroplex (Collleyville, Euless, Southlake,
Hurst, Lewisville and Flower Mound) and they all include the Pledge of Allegiance on
their City Council agendas, as well as an Invocation.
We also searched Grapevine's past agendas and did not find where the Pledge of
Allegiance was included in the City Council agendas or minutes.
Linda Huff called Ex Mayor Pro Tem Ted R. Ware and he did not remember the City
Council having the Pledge of Allegiance on their agendas.
Staff will proceed as directed by the City Council.
