SUBJECT: WORKSHOP - PROPOSED NEW GAYLORD POOL AND
SOUND STUDY RESULTS FOR GLASS CACTUS
WORKSHOP
Gaylord staff will make a presentation of the proposed new pool and results of the sound
study of the Glass Cactus.
There are two pending items with regard to the expansion of the Gaylord Texan; the
sound study of the Glass Cactus and the new pool west of the new guest tower.
Gaylord will present plans for Council that details the design, layout, and screening of
the new pool. Staff feels that the plans offer all that can be done to assure sound
attenuation and screening to the neighborhood to the west.
With the approval of the new guest tower and convention center expansion, Gaylord was
directed to study the noise generated by the Glass Cactus. They have completed that
study which will be presented to Council. The approval of the study findings will go to
the Site Plan Review Committee for formal action as directed by Council.
